Save the Species (Grades 2 and 3)
This year elementary writing program of WORDPLAY is “Save the Species”.
It is perhaps more important than ever for children to be aware of the endangered species that inhabit our planet. Raising awareness as early as possible is crucial. WORDPLAY intends to connect them to the cause through various creative writing experiences.
In WORDPLAY we believe writing is a powerful tool to help children think, feel and express.
Second and Third graders shift from using pictures as a prompt for their stories, as in early year learners, to writing for the joy of writing itself. There’s independence in their thought process and fluency in their expression.
Good writing evolves from the ability to draw insights from multiple disciplines and express their thoughts in a voice which is their own.
In this program, we will weave Social Sciences and English into the writing projects.
