Prakriti, The Mother
Premised on Tagore’s philosophy, “Nature teaches man more than any institution”, the curriculum integrated storytelling with creative movements, dramatic narrations, poems, songs and creative craft work.
The curriculum consciously integrated the indigenous flora and fauna of India. The intent was not only to make the stories and environment relatable to their sensibilities but also create a conscious awareness of nature from this nascent formative stage.

My five-year-old daughter has looked forward to every session at SHiSHU program and enjoyed it thoroughly. The program is a very well researched pedagogy and integrates rhythm, movement, recitations and creative artwork into storytelling. Soumi conducts it so passionately, making it so very exciting and engaging for little kids.
The last module Prakriti was all about Nature that Soumi conducted through poems, stories , characters and lots of art work that helped the children develop their curiosity and creativity.
Whether it was aquatic life or learning about trees or the life cycle of a seed to a plant. Even difficult concepts like water cycle were introduced so well in stories by Soumi, that every child not only grasped it but even remembers it to date.
I am so indebted to Soumi as her sessions helped children imbibe new concepts, new words and most importantly instill empathy and build emotional connect with people and nature around them.
Looking forward eagerly to her next session ... our daughter Enaiyat is lucky to have Soumi as her Mentor and friend.

Soumi is the best teacher you can have. She is great with the little ones. My girl has been going to Soumi since she was 2 and she is 4 now and had teachers in school and summer camps but still her favourite is Soumi Mam, her 1st teacher.
When your kids are with her, you can be assured they are in best hands....her classes are very well thought through, planned, informative and enriching for a child. My little one will be regular at “Soumi mam” that I am sure of
I wish the best to Soumi and Wordplay

Shishu is an enriching program for the early years. My daughter Vannya has been with Soumi since she was 2 years old. Seeing the way SHiSHU is taking its shape, I feel proud to say that she was the one of 3 kids with whom Soumi has initiated this journey.
The shlokas, storytelling with movements, art activities are not only innovative but are done with so much fun!!
I strongly believe, this is what a child needs at this age. The concepts like water cycle, seed to sapling journey, stories of endangered species- SHiSHU brought it all in its module Prakriti, the Mother.
It is a commendable, the amount of effort and research that Soumi puts into this program. The love and care Soumi has given Vannya, is beyond words.
I would highly recommend this program.
Thank you Soumi and SHiSHU for giving us an opportunity to be a part of this.

Shishu is a strongly recommended program for any 3+ year old. It is a beautifully put together program by Soumi which hones a child's imagination and weaves it together with recitations, poems and stories, making it a package which evolves as the child grows. It adds multiple subtle aspects to a developing brain and personality which is so difficult to imbibe otherwise. I find my little one more kind, empathetic and so much well aware of her surroundings, plus the way she can recite the names of trees, it looks like pure bliss or rather magical!!
