Overview
Light is good, we love light. Very often, metaphorically we symbolize light as happiness.
However, have we ever paused to notice that the lights we are using are taking away our stars.
Yes, we are using more light than we need. We are using light in a way that is harming our environment, harming us, and wasting our money and resources. And the sad news is we are so used to our light pollution, the overuse, and misuse of light, that we almost don’t notice it.
In this workshop, we will explore the fragile wonders that thrive under our increasingly threatened night skies. We will weave the fascinating facts (Science) about how plants and animals react to light pollution and delve deeper into them through poetry writing (Language Art)
Finally learn the techniques of essay writing by writing a well-crafted essay by putting our thoughts together on how young people can be instrumental in protecting our night-time environment.
It’s time we remember ‘Dark Matters!’
